Elizabeth Ichton has over 25 years experience as creative director and project manager for a range of profit and not-for-profit clients. Notable projects include reorganization, design and production of the catalogues for the University of Massachusetts Medical School; branding, design, and production of a 144-page color catalogue, with various brochures, enrollment packages and support publications for Passports, a student travel organization; and creating a renewed branding and identity system for Frost Manufacturing Corporation. Other projects include consultation for New England Development Corporation to design brochures to promote new malls in Washington DC, and New Haven; package design, logos, marketing and collateral for a national private-name cosmetic manufacturer; and brochures and newsletters for Nashoba Valley Medical Center.

Ms. Ichton’s comprehensive capabilities include design and illustration, expertise in print production and a thorough understanding of today’s web-oriented technologies. Her knowledge base is founded in a background of advertising, design and printing production: after a short apprenticeship with a local advertising agency she helped created an in-house agency for a construction equipment company. She spent several years working at a pre-press service bureau, gaining valuable experience in traditional typesetting and all aspects of print production before venturing to start her own graphic design studio.

Ms. Ichton taught at Clark University, College of Professional and Continuing Education (COPACE), 1985-1988, drafting and developing the new graphic design course for the college’s communications major. Graphic Design and Production I and II comprised two 14-week segments, covering methods for developing and evaluating design; working with design and fonts, and understanding printing processes. This course was specifically tailored to give communications majors the tools to work with designers and printers. Ms. Ichton also taught a 12-week senior seminar for art majors and guest lectured an introduction to design and printing for the COPACE Technical Writing program. Clark University, Art Department, 1990.

Educated initially at University of New Hampshire majoring in Art and Art Education, Ms. Ichton completed a marketing program, creative writing seminar, and computer science at Clark University, and attended Pratt Institute, New York for computer graphics. She is currently co-president of the Society for Professional Communicators, a central Massachusetts organization for writers, editors, designers, web programmers, photographers and others in the field of communication.
